Fall Fun

So as I pulled in from work today I realized that we had not carved our pumpkin yet. No big deal right? Wrong. Nate is out of town until Wednesday night at 5. So for the first time in 6 years, I carved the pumpkin. Which, by the way, is a lot of work. Not nearly as easy as Nate has made it look in years past. Jack did an awesome job scooping out all of the seeds and the other gross stuff that makes my skin crawl when I touch it. Ben, who takes after his Mom in more ways than one, watched from a safe distance.

In other fun Sanders family news, how 'bout em DAWGS!! How much fun was Saturday's game to watch?!? One of the reasons we love our neighbors is because they all love college football as much as we do. Now Bonnie, who watches Ben for me while I am at work, sent a picture to Nate and I, along with our friends Dana and Scott (Bonnie watches their little boy too.) first thing Friday morning. Our beautiful children were in those horrible gator colors. Worst of all., Ben was in a cheerleading uniform. So the war was on. Bonnie and her family were out of town this weekend so we decided to welcome them home in a special way. We put red and black balloons on everyone's mailbox on our entire street. Nate and the boys wrote the score in their driveway in chalk and placed a Bulldawg chair with Sunday's Sports Section on their front stoop. My favorite part was Nate somehow rigged their garage door so that when it opened, you would see a gator hanging there.
The boys are super excited about Halloween. They are going to be Power Rangers. Check back at the end of the week for fun pictures!

The Happiest Place on Earth

After months of preparation, we finally made the trek down to Disney World on September 17th. We stopped off in Tifton to say hi to Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Matt and Aunt Stacie, and our cousin Abbigail. We got to feed the newest member of the farm, Lucky. He drinks bottles!
After a fun dinner, we headed off to bed so that we could wake up super early and get on the road to DISNEY WORLD! We left Tifton around 8am and were on our way. Jack and Ben seem to do better with me in the back seat so I got stuck in "backseatmiddlefeetonthehump" for four hours. (Note to Patrick, Joe, and Michael: Not as bad as 12 hours in "the pit" )
We made it to the AllStar Movie Resort around noon. Just in time for Ben and I to take a nap and for Nate and Jack to go play putt putt. Afterwards we got up and headed to the pool. The boys had fun splashing around with Daddy and Goofy.
We went to Downtown Disney for dinner and ate at Planet Hollywood. It was super fun and loud which worked well for the boys. We walked around for a little while after dinner and headed back to the hotel to rest up for our first day at Magic Kingdom. I got the boys Power Ranger PJs and myself TinkerBell sleep pants. As much as Ben and I love vacationing in Florida, our hair does not!
We woke up the next morning at the crack of dawn and took the shuttle bus to Magic Kingdom. Being the planner that Nate is, he looked at the map before the park opened and decided our best bet would be to hit Frontier Land first. Our first ride was Splash Mountain, which my loving husband assured me I "wouldn't get too wet". LIAR!
That was the boys favorite ride by far. Ben refers to it as the waterfall ride. Yes, utilizing the right pair of tennis shoes, Ben was able to ride all the rides except for Space Mountain. We had the best time at Magic Kingdom. The weather was not too hot and there were no lines! We got to ride pretty much every thing we wanted. The boys got to meet one of their all time favorites, Buzz Lightyear. We stayed late for the fireworks. They were amazing.
The next day we headed to MGM. It was drizzling a little bit, but that did not damper the Sanders Family Spirit. We separated a little here since Ben wanted to do the Playhouse Disney thing and Jack was interested in the Star Wars Flight Simulator. We still met up for lunch before Ben and I headed back for our daily nap. While we were sleeping, Nate and Jack were able to see the new stunt show which Jack (and Nate) loved. For dinner, it was Pizza Planet. Not as cool as in the movie, but the boys loved it none the less.
Thursday morning it was back to Magic Kingdom. We had to ride all of our favorite rides again; the "waterfall ride", Big Thunder Railroad, Space Mountain. Which, FYI, there is nothing scarier than Space Mountain with your six year old. Who you can't see. Because it is pitch black. And he is screaming. After the ride, I found out they were screams of joy. He has proceeded to tell everyone how "Mommy kept grabbing me from her seat and yelling,'if you get scared just close your eyes. That is what I am doing'." Hilarious.
After 12 straight hours at the park it was time to head home. We woke up Friday and drove straight through. The kids had such a great time. It was so exciting to see their faces every time we saw a character walking the streets. We can't wait to go back!
Apparently, I can only attach so many pictures to one post, so I will create a new post with more.

My very first post

Hopefully this will be a fun way for everyone to see what is going on with our family. I am going to try and be super good about journaling and posting pictures (which I am sure is all you really care about anyway).
Jack is six and loving Kindergarten. He was chosen to be the Star Student for his class this year. We are so proud of him! He is playing fall ball and loving it. Ben is about to turn 3 in November. Contrary to Mommy's belief than he would actually go to kindergarten in diapers, Ben is recently potty trained. And it was super easy! He loves going to our neighbor Bonnie's house and playing with his friends while I am at work.
